Help for the TINIS PBX app on iPhone, Apple Watch, CarPlay, Android, Windows and Mac.
Getting started
There is no sign-up in the app: the company's IT creates your extension and gives you a QR code, or a server address, a user name and a password. Ask IT if you do not have them.
- Install the app and open it.
- Tap the QR button and scan the code, or enter the server address, user name and password.
- Allow the microphone and notifications when the app asks (and the camera, for video calls and for scanning the QR code).
What you need
- iPhone and iPad: iOS 15 or later. Apple Watch: watchOS 10 or later (with the iPhone app installed).
- Android, Windows, Mac: the app for your system, from IT.
- An internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data), or the office network.
Questions and answers
I get no incoming calls
Open the app once and check that notifications are allowed (Settings, Notifications, TINIS PBX) and that Do Not Disturb is off in the app. Calls need an internet connection on the phone. If a Focus mode is on, allow TINIS PBX in it.
I cannot hear the other person, or they cannot hear me
Check that the microphone is allowed (Settings, TINIS PBX), that the phone is not muted, and the volume. Try switching between the receiver and the speaker in the call screen. If it happens on mobile data only, tell IT.
I cannot sign in
Check the server address, that the phone has internet or is on the office network, and the user name and password. A new QR code from IT is the quickest way. After several wrong attempts the account is locked for a short time.
The Apple Watch does not ring
Open the TINIS PBX app on the Watch once and allow notifications, then open the app on the iPhone. The iPhone must be nearby or connected. A ringing call shows Answer and Decline on the Watch.
How do I use CarPlay or Siri?
Connect the iPhone to the car: TINIS PBX shows contacts, recent calls and voicemail. With Siri say "Call (name) with TINIS PBX".
I forgot my password
IT can reset it in the phone system and give you a new QR code or password.
How do I sign out, or have my data removed?
Use Sign out in the app's settings: it removes the sign-in from the phone. For your calls, voicemail and chat records write to IT at the address below.
Can I call the emergency services?
No. TINIS PBX cannot place emergency calls (112 / 999). Use the phone's own dialler.
